December daily journal

A December daily journal is an album that documents the month of December leading up to Christmas day (and sometimes beyond). It is a chance to reflect, to share, to celebrate the season in a manageable, in-the-moment way. Click here to go to  Ali's blog to see how to put one together.

You can start planning some family fun activities to put in your December daily journal. Some things might include baking cookies, going sledding, ornament making, caroling, hosting a gift exchange, buying gifts for the needy, making gifts, decorating the house etc.

A Christmas Memory

Friday, we read A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote. It is a touching story, beautifully illustrated, about the memories a young boy has of an elderly relative, that he used to live with, and what she taught him. We made a book....

to hold all our Christmas memories that we are making this year, and the next, and the next, and so on.... We'll pull this out each year and reminisce and add to the memories.

This was on of my favorite things I was looking forward to starting this year. The kids are all thinking about what they want to write in it already and what pictures to add to it.
